History

Founded in 1968 as Calvin Klein Limited, the first Calvin Klein collection was a line of "youthful, understated coats and dresses" featured at the New York City store, Bonwit Teller. From there onwards, CK went on to appear in Vogue and numerous high-end fashion magazines. Klein also won a lot of awards for his product line and capitalized on advertisements with big names in the entertainment industry endorsing the brand.

History

Founded in 1972 by Stephen Marks, French Connection set out to create well-designed fashionable clothing that appealed to a broad market. The company became notorious for the use of the "fcuk" initialism in its advertising campaigns in the early 2000s which gained a lot of attention.

The Louis Vuitton label was founded by Vuitton in Paris, France in 1854. Vuitton first introduced his flat-bottom trunks with Trianon canvas, making them lightweight and airtight and then went on to work on a wide range of products.

Brothers Paul and Maurice Marciano moved to Los Angeles in 1981 and opened their first store in upscale Beverly Hills area. Nike is an American corporation that designs and manufactures sports shoes, clothing and accessories.

History

Nike was founded by University of Oregon track athlete Philip Knight and his coach Bill Bowerman in January 1964. The company initially operated as a distributor for Japanese shoemaker Onitsuka Tiger. According to Otis Davis, who later went on to win two gold medals at the 1960 Summer Olympics, Bowerman made the first pair of Nike shoes for him. After that, Nike reinvented the brand name and identity and never looked back.


Prada S.p.A. is an Italian luxury fashion house, specializing in ready-to-wear leather and fashion accessories, shoes, luggage, perfumes, watches.

History

The company was started in 1913 by Mario Prada and his brother Martino as a leathergoods shop – Fratelli Prada in Milan, Italy. Initially, the shop sold leather goods and imported English steamer trunks and handbags. Mario Prada, his daughter Luisa Prada who took the helm of Prada as his successor, and ran it for almost twenty years successfully.

History

René Lacoste founded La Chemise Lacoste in 1933 with André Gillier, the owner and president of the largest French knitwear manufacturing firm at the time. According to this history, John Hollister, Sr. emigrated from New York to the Dutch East Indies and established the company bearing his name upon returning to the United States and settling in California in 1922.

History

Cotton clothing was being used for sweaty, stretchy power yoga and seemed completely inappropriate to the founder, Chip, whose passion lay in technical athletic fabrics. From this, a design studio was born that became a yoga studio at night to pay the rent. Clothing was offered for sale and an underground yoga clothing movement was born. Now, Lulu Lemon has created a niche market for itself.

The company was formed in 1924 as Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik by Adolf and Rudolf Dassler. The relationship between the two brothers deteriorated until the two agreed to split in 1948, forming two separate entities, Adidas and Puma. Both companies are currently based in Herzogenaurach, Germany.

The company was founded in 1992 by Johnny Schillereff, as a collaboration, and was called "Underworld Element Skateboards". Following a period of hardship, the struggling company was later absorbed by Schillereff and the "Underworld" portion of the name was dropped

When American Eagle Outfitters was launched in 1977, it was part of Silvermans Menswear, Inc., a retailing company whose flagship was the Silvermans chain, which sold young men's apparel and accessories and was founded in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania (near Pittsburgh), in 1904. Soon the brands started working on the style it's currently famous for- casuals.
